Is the 2017-18 Premier League season shaping up to be a three-team race? That’s the way the betting market seems to be suggesting. At the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, Manchester City is a +180 favorite, followed by Manchester United (+300) and Chelsea (+325). The next closest team to that trio is Tottenham at 8/1. Could the Spurs be a darkhorse contender this season? They led the league in goals scored, fewest goals allowed, and goal differential last year.

Point totals have just been released with Manchester City (80.5), Manchester United (78.5) and Chelsea (77.5) leading the pack. Last season, Manchester City finished third in the league with 78 points, Manchester United was sixth with 69, and Chelsea won the league with 93 points. In 38 league games last season, Chelsea picked up at least a point in 33 of them.

In order for Manchester United to reach its goals this year, the Red Devils need to increase their scoring. Man U scored 31 fewer goals than Chelsea last year, 32 fewer than Tottenham, and 26 fewer than Man City. Rumors are swirling that Manchester United will be making a push to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale before the start of the EPL season. The 2017-18 Premier League season begins on Saturday, August 12.
