The Atlanta Falcons 2017 stock continues to rise at Vegas and Offshore Sportsbook shops, in the futures category. The NFL Sunday Week #3 slate saw the Falcons continue to find ways to win. Atlanta (3-0) quarterback Matt Ryan found wide receiver Taylor Gabriel for a 40-yard, go-ahead pass on the first play of the fourth quarter that provided the game-winning score ultimately allowing Atlanta to defeat the Detroit Lions (2-1) at Ford Field.
Ryan completed 24-of-35 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns assisting his teammates in staying perfect on the season despite being picked off three times. There are a lot of reasons to like the Falcons and believe this team, even without last year’s offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, will represent the National Football Conference in Super Bowl 52.
Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn and his staff continue to avoid injuries to key players by utilizing their depth. The highest paid running back in the league, Devonta Freeman, gained 106 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown in Sunday’s win over Detroit, but the coaches don’t overuse their No #1 tailback. Unlike other NFL franchises and their staffs that rely on a single bell-cow back with 30-to-40 touches per game the Falcons give Freeman a number of series off during games and utilize the talents of Tevin Coleman. Freeman has 52 rushing attempts and seven receptions in three games this season while Coleman has 20 carries and nine catches.
The Falcons special teams are typically key contributors to the clubs Sunday success, as well, with 42-year old “Money” Matt Bryant connecting on all eight of his field goal attempts this season and punter Matt Bosher averaging over 48 yards per kick across the team’s first three 2017 wins.
The World’s Largest Race and Sportsbook, WestGate of Las Vegas, has updated their Odds to Win Super Bowl 52 and the Falcons (5-to-1) have moved into the second spot on the chart behind Brady and Belichick’s Patroits (4-to-1).
