Summer Boxing Update: Horn vs. Pacquiao

“I don’t know him.” Upon learning that Australian Jeff Horn was his next opponent, Manny Pacquiao said he has no idea who he is. Judging by the public reaction to this fight, he’s not alone. What kind of contest are we in for on Saturday? At the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, Pacquiao is a -650 favorite in their WBO Welterweight title fight.

While the boxing quality remains to be seen, the atmosphere at the “Battle for Brisbane” should be electric. There are 50,000 tickets already sold for Suncorp Stadium, with an expected crowd of over 60,000 people. Horn is 16-0-1, but has never fought outside of Australia or New Zealand. The 2012 Olympian is the No. 2-ranked WBO welterweight.

The fight will be broadcast live on ESPN. It will be Pacquiao’s first fight not televised on pay-per-view since 2005. Jeff Horn vs. Manny Pacquiao odds and props, courtesy of the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook
