Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics

In a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference finals and a duel between the best and third-best teams of the East, the Boston Celtics (40-17), looking to bounce back after their latest defeat, are hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers (32-22), who have two straight victories and want to continue on the winning ways.  Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  02-11-2018, 15:30 EDT

Spread: Boston Celtics -5

Total: +212.5

Celtics have a 40-17 record (34-21-2 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the first place of the East. They have lost two of their last three matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Pacers with a 91-97 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Kyrie Irving with 24.8 ppg, adding 5 assists per game. He is followed by Jaylen Brown with 14.2 ppg and 5.4 rebounds, while Al Horford adds 13.3 ppg and team highs both in rebounding with 7.8 and in assists made, with 5.2 per game.

Cavaliers have a 32-22 record (16-37-1 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit in the third place of the East. They have back-to-back wins and in their last game they won on the road against the Hawks with a 123-107 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by LeBron James with 26.6 ppg, adding 7.9 rebounds and a team high 8.7 assists per game. He is followed by Kevin Love with 17.9 ppg and a team high 9.4 rebounds per game but he is out with an injury.

In their two previous meetings earlier this season, each team managed to win at home (Celtics by 14 points and Cavs by 3). Celtics are 21-9 at home so far this season, while Cavs are 12-15 on the road. Cavs are better offensively, scoring 109.8 ppg to Celtics’ 102.9, while Celtics are better defensively, allowing a second-best 98.7 ppg to Cavs’ 110.1. Cavs have a better field goal percentage, shooting with 47.28% to Celtics’ 44.71, while Celtics have a better 3-point percentage, shooting with 37.03% to Cavs’ 36.56%. Celtics are better in rebounding, grabbing 44.3 to Cavs’ 41.8, while Cavs are better in assists made, with 23.6 to Celtics’ 22. Cavs have been terrible lately and Vegas odds give the Celtics a -5 spread which they are expected to beat easily today.
