Two squads with completely different goals for the season face off tonight, when the rebuilding Phoenix Suns (19-49), looking to end one of their many lengthy losing streaks this season, are hosting the playoff bound but struggling Cleveland Cavaliers (38-28), who have two straight defeats and are looking to bounce back.  Cleveland Cavaliers vs Phoenix Suns Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  03-13-2018, 21:00 EDT

Spread: Phoenix Suns +7.5

Total: +230

Suns have a 19-49 record (31-35-2 against the spread) so far this season. Phoenix’s overall record is the second worse in the overall standings in the West.  They have five consecutive losses and in their last game they lost on the road against the Hornets with a 115-122 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Devin Booker with 25.3 ppg. The guard adds 4.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. He is followed by TJ Warren with 19.7 ppg and 5.1 rebounds per game, while Elfrid Payton adds 14.8 ppg, 7.1 rebounds and a team high 7.1 assists per game.

Cavaliers have a 38-28 record (21-44-1 against the spread) so far this season and have fallen in the fourth place of the East. They have back-to-back losses and in their last game they lost on the road against the Lakers with a 113-127 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by LeBron James with 26.9 ppg. The “King” adds 8.4 rebounds and a team high 9 assists per game. He is followed by Kevin Love with 17.9 ppg and a team high 9.4 rebounds per game but he is out with an injury.

Cleveland won both meetings against Phoenix last season (by 15 points at home and by 4 points on the road). Suns are 9-24 at home so far this season, while Cavaliers are 16-17 on the road. Cavaliers are better both offensively, scoring 110 ppg to Suns’ 104.5 and defensively, allowing 110.1 ppg to Suns’ league-low of 113.5. They also have better percentages both in field goals, shooting with 47.45% to Suns’ 44.2% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 36.63% to Suns’ 33.78%. Cavs are also better in assists made, with 23.6 to Suns’ 21.2, while Suns are only better in rebounding, grabbing 43.9 to Cavs’ 42. Cavaliers are the favorite for the win but they have been very ineffective even against much weaker teams lately. Vegas odds give them a -7.5 spread but don’t expect them to beat those odds as Suns will force a closer game than that.
