NCAAB Tennessee vs. Auburn Spread and Prediction (3-7-20)

Auburn is still in the mix for a protected seed when the Big Dance pairings are announced on Selection Sunday, but nothing has been coming easy lately for Tigers. Auburn lost at home as a double-digit favorite to Texas A&M on Wednesday night. Can the Tigers rebound on the road this weekend? Saturday afternoon’s Tennessee vs. Auburn preview, courtesy of The Gold Sheet:

Date/Time: 03-7-2020, 12:00 EDT
Opening Spread: Tennessee -2.5
Opening Total: 137

The Tigers have only covered the spread in two of their last eight games. One of those to covers came as a narrow 7-point win (as 6 1⁄2- point chalk) over Tennessee at Auburn Arena on Feb. 22 when Bruce Pearl’s troops had to rally from a 17-point deficit. Unfortunately for Pearl, the Vols appear to be clicking at the right time. In recent wins vs. Georgia and a shocker at Kentucky, Tennessee shot the ball better than it has in nearly two months. The Vols hit nearly 53-percent from floor in that upset of of the Wildcats, and 6-9 John Fulkerson has picked up the pace noticeably, scoring 24 points per game in those back-to-back wins. Flying too close to the flame all season, Auburn has been getting burned past few weeks, losing four of last six.

Tennessee vs. Auburn Pick: Tennessee 72 – Auburn 67
