College Football Bowl Predictions from Ed Feng

College Football Bowl Predictions:

Central Michigan vs Tulsa: -6.0 (market -11.5)

Central Michigan got off to a hot start with that amazing win at Oklahoma State (referees gave them a final play they shouldn’t have, Central Michigan scores on Hail mary, lateral combination.) Then they struggled to 5 losses in the MAC.

Tulsa has a high tempo, high efficiency offense (43rd by adjusted yards per play), but a bad defense (93rd). There should be lots of points in this game.

Central Michigan throws the ball much better than they run, and the pass offense should have success against Tulsa.

Florida State vs Michigan: -6.5 (market -7.0)

The game is in Miami, but I still consider it a neutral site since Michigan will bring tens of thousands of fans.

Florida State runs the ball (5th in adjusted yards per carry), and it should be a good match up against Michigan’s 16th ranked run defense. The Seminoles need to run, since QB Deondre Francois will find it difficult to throw against an excellent Michigan pass defense (3rd in adjusted yards per attemp).

Michigan QB Wilton Speight is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. However, he played against Ohio State and almost certainly plays in this game.

LSU vs Louisville: +2.3 (market +3.5), 60.5 (market 60.5).

This should be an amazing contest between Lamar Jackson’s offense and LSU’s elite defense.

However, the edge is in LSU 5th ranked offense against a 12th ranked Louisville that has looked terrible the last two games. LSU has QB issues but can really run the ball (2nd).

LSU’s top tackler Kendell Beckwith is expected to miss this game. Leonard Fournette is listed as questionable with an ankle that has bothered him all season, although Derrius Guice has averaged more yards per carry (8.0) than Fournette (6.5).

For Louisville, top receiver Jamari Staples is listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury.
