It’s been a little over 3 months since Manchester City lifted the EPL Trophy and we kick off a new season on Friday August 10th as Manchester United host Leicester City.  Man City are once again favorites to win the title (see odds below) and while they did run away with the title last season we could see a tighter title race this season with an improving Liverpool side that seemingly answered their goalkeeper question mark this offseason with the $75M signing of Brazilian and former Roma keeper Alisson.

Another side that could give Manchester City a run for the title are form title holders 2 years removed Chelsea.  Although the Blues had a disappointing past season they did make some changes in the offseason namely bringing in a new manager in former Napoli head Maurizio Sarri who led his former side to a close 2nd place finish last season to Juventus in Italy’s Serie A. One of Sarri’s first moves was to bring his talented midfielder Jorginho with him to Chelsea which should help improve their side. With only the Europa League competition to keep them busy outside of the EPL you can count on starters playing a majority of their EPL league games as Sarri has been known to give priority to league play over competitions other than Champions League.  Regardless, this season shapes up to be another enjoyable one and check back here at Wagertalk Soccer News to get weekly articles on the upcoming EPL weekend along with some Free Play predictions.
