The Lowdown

Duke (16-5 SU, 8-12 ATS) just avoided a fourth loss in five games when it rallied late to win at Wake Forest Saturday 85-83. The Blue Devils trailed by 10 points with four minutes to go but finished with a 14-2 run to escape with a victory. However, they couldn’t cover as six-point favorites.

On the night Duke shot 48 percent from the field, and hit 14 of 31 from 3-point range, which helped overcome 15 turnovers and 30 fouls.

The Dukies are now 3-3 SU, 1-5 ATS since Coach K left the team temporarily.

Notre Dame (17-5 SU, 10-5 ATS), meanwhile, has lost three of its last four games, after falling at Georgia Tech Saturday 62-60. The Irish trailed by six midway through the second half, tied the game with just over two minutes to go, but lost on a basket at the buzzer.

On the day Notre Dame shot just 40 percent, while allowing the Yellowjackets to shoot 48 percent.

Last Tuesday the Irish played a poor last 10 minutes and lost to Virginia 71-54.

Notre Dame has won five of the last six meetings with Duke, including the last three, most recently knocking off the Dukies in the ACC tournament last March 84-79 in overtime. The Irish shot 50 percent from the floor that day, while Duke shot just 34 percent.

Also, that game was an UNDER at 70-70 through regulation, but played OVER its total of 156 in overtime.

Dukies-Irish Betting Analysis

Duke’s thin at the moment, and it nearly cost them dearly last time out. Meanwhile, Notre Dame should be primed for an improved performance, following two straight defeats.
