Game Preview

The Seminoles were 1-point underdogs for yesterday’s quarterfinal matchup with Virginia Tech.
They needed OT to get it done, but they advanced via a 65-63 decision. For the season, Florida State
checks in at 26-6 (15-16-1) with a 13-5 record in ACC play.

The Cavaliers snagged a share of the regular season conference title with North Carolina, as both
squads finished up at 16-2 in conference. Overall, Virginia is 29-2 (23-8 ATS). The team took on NC
State yesterday as 11.5-point favorites, and they advanced with a 76-56 win.

Florida State Seminoles

Florida State closed out the regular season in strong fashion by winning its last four games. Over the
last 10 games, the team is 9-1 (6-4 ATS). They visited Virginia in early January, losing by a score of
65-52 as 9-point underdogs.

Team totals have been Under for five of the last six and stand at 13-17-2 for the season. Mfiondu
Kabengele is the leading scorer for the Seminoles with an average of 12.9 ppg. Terance Mann is next
up with averages of 11.4 ppg and 6.4 boards. Mann led the way in yesterday’s victory over Virginia
Tech with 10 points and 9 boards.

Virginia Cavaliers

Virginia has just two blemishes on its record for the season, both of which came at the hands of
Duke. A 2-point road loss in January was followed by a 10-point home defeat in the rematch the
following month. For the last 10, the Cavaliers are 9-1 (7-3 ATS).

Totals have been Over for three of the last five, but they lean towards the Under on the year at 14-17.
Kyle is the top option on offense with averages of 15.8 ppg and 4.8 boards. De’Andre Hunter
contributes 15.2 ppg and 5.2 rpg, while Ty Jerome adds in 13.1 ppg and 5.5 dimes. Guy topped the
team in the quarterfinal over NC State with 29 points.

Florida State vs. Virginia Prediction

Virginia has won the last two games versus Florida State, and they also hold a 7-3 edge for the last
10 meetings. Totals are 1-9 over that span. The Seminoles are the more productive squad on offense,
but the Cavaliers are more stout on defense.

The line stands at Virginia -9. While that may seem a little steep versus another Top 25 team, five of
the Cavaliers victories over its current nine-game winning streak have come by double digits. We’ll
take Virginia to win and cover.
