Game Preview

The Hawkeyes were favored by 4.5 points for Thursday’s game with Illinois. They easily covered
while cruising to an 83-62 win. Iowa brings an overall record of 22-10 (13-19 ATS) to the table.
They’re 10-10 in Big Ten play, which leaves them six games behind conference leaders Purdue and
Michigan State.

The Wolverines wound up a game behind the co-leaders with a record of 15-5 in conference. A pair
of losses to Michigan State helped to seal the team’s fate for the regular season. On Saturday, the
Wolverines fell to the Spartans by a score of 75-63. Overall, Michigan has a record of 26-5 (17-14
ATS).

Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa struggled down the stretch as they closed out the regular season with four straight losses. The
team is 5-5 (2-8 ATS) for its last 10 outings. They squared off with Michigan once during the regular
season, picking up a huge 15-point home win.

Totals are right down the middle for the season at 16-16, but the Over has been the correct call for
four of the last six. Joe Wieskamp led the team in scoring in yesterday’s victory with 13 points. Tyler
Cook added in 12 points, five boards, and six dimes. Jordan Bohannon chipped in with 8 points and 5
assists.

Michigan Wolverines

Michigan opened up the season by ripping off 17 straight wins. However, the team is a pedestrian 6-4
(6-4 ATS) over its last 10 games. The two losses to Michigan State are included over that span, as are
road defeats to Penn State and Iowa.

Totals have been Over for four straight, but they lean towards the Under for the year at 13-17. Ignas
Brazdeikis is the top threat for the Wolverines. He’s averaging 15.0 ppg and 5.3 boards. Jordan Poole
adds in 13.0 ppg, while Charles Matthews chips in with 12.8. Matthews is questionable tonight with
an ankle injury.

Iowa vs. Michigan Prediction

Iowa’s regular season win snapped a three-game winning streak in the series for Michigan. Prior to
that, the Hawkeyes had won five in a row. Over the last 10 meetings of these two programs, Iowa
holds a 6-4 edge. Totals are 5-4-1 over that span.

Michigan is an 8.5-point favorite for tonight’s game. They get the nod on defense, but Iowa is the
more productive team on offense. We’ll look for Michigan to win and advance, but we’re leaning on
Iowa to keep it closer than expected and cover.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines Pick: Iowa Hawkeyes +8.5 (-110)
