The Jayhawks hit the floor tonight fresh off of a 14-point home win over Texas Tech on Saturday.
That victory snapped a two-game skid. For the year, Kansas is 17-5 (9-13 ATS). The team is ranked
#13 in the latest AP Top 25 poll and currently sits in second place in the Big 12 with a 6-3 record in
The Wildcats are tied for first-place in the conference at 6-2, just a half-game in front of rival
Kansas. They were also in action on Saturday, picking up an 18-point road victory over Oklahoma
State. On the season, Kansas State is 16-5 (11-10 ATS).
Since an excellent 10-0 run to start the year, Kansas has come back to earth a bit. The team is 6-4 (3-
7 ATS) over the last 10, with three losses over their last five. Just one of those losses came to a
ranked squad. The Jayhawks are 1-5 (1-5 ATS) on the road thus far.
The cleb leans towards the Over at 12-9-1 on the year, but the Under has been the correct choice in
two of the last three. Dedric Lawson is the team’s biggest threat with averages of 19.5 ppg and 10.9
rpg. Lagerald Vick is next up with 14.5 ppg and 4.0 boards, while Devon Dotson contributes 11.1
ppg and 3.4 dimes.
Kansas State Wildcats
Kansas State has suffered a pair of two-game losing streaks this season, but the club has been playing
well of late. Over the last 10, the Wildcats are 7-3 (6-4 ATS). The team has also been stout at home
with a record of 9-1 (3-7 ATS) to date.
The Wildcats skew towards the Under at 7-14 on totals, with the Over being hit in just two of the last
five. Barry Brown Jr. is the team’s leading scorer with 15.3 ppg and 4.1 rpg. Dean Wade is adding in
14.3 ppg and 6.6 boards, while Kamau Stokes checks in with 9.9 ppg and 3.5 dimes.
Kansas vs. Kansas State Prediction
This will be the first meeting of the season for the rivals, but Kansas holds a dominant edge in the
series. Over the last 10 meetings, the Jayhawks are 9-1, with victories in the last eight in a row.
While that’s a big red flag to consider, Kansas State is playing better basketball of late. We like them
to pick up the victory and cover on their home court tonight.
