Game Preview

The Cavaliers were in action against another conference heavyweight on Saturday, falling by 10
points at home to Duke. That dropped Virginia to 8-2 in ACC play, leaving them one game behind
conference co-leaders Duke and North Carolina. The team is 20-2 (16-6 ATS) for the season.
The Tar Heels were also in action on Saturday, escaping with a 3-point win in OT at home versus
Miami. The team is 9-1 versus ACC foes and 19-4 (14-7-2 ATS) for the season. North Carolina
enters tonight’s game riding a seven-game winning streak.

Virginia Cavaliers

Duke is the only squad which has gotten the better of Virginia this season. The Cavaliers are 8-2 (7-3
ATS) over their last 10, with two losses to Duke sandwiched around a four-game winning streak over
that span. Virginia has been solid on the road at 6-1 (6-1 ATS) thus far. Team totals stand at 10-12,
with the Under coming in for three of the last five.

Kyle Guy leads the way in scoring with 14.6 ppg and 4.3 boards. He had a tough time versus Duke,
making just 6 of 15 from the field. De’Andre Hunter is next up with 14.5 ppg and 5.3 rpg, while Ty
Jerome contributes 13.1 ppg and 4.9 dimes.

North Carolina Tar Heels

The close win over Miami was the first time North Carolina was seriously tested in recent times, as
that game came on the heels of four straight in which they won by double digits. The Tar Heels are 9-
1 (7-3 ATS) over the last 10. The team is stout at home with a mark of 11-1 (6-4-2 ATS) so far.
Team totals have been Over for the last two and stand at 12-11 for the year.

Coby White is the team’s top scorer with 15.9 ppg and 4.3 dimes. Right behind him is Cameron
Johnson, who brings averages of 15.8 ppg and 5.5 boards. Rounding out the top threats is Luke
Maye, who averages 15.1 ppg and 9.7 rpg.

Virginia vs. North Carolina Prediction

This is the first meeting of the season for the two rivals. Virginia won both times out last season, and
is riding a three-game winning streak in the series. Over the last 10 meetings, the Cavaliers are 6-4,
and they have won four of the last six.

As the tight spread indicates, this one is a veritable toss-up. We like the hosts to get the job done and
pick up the win on the home court.
