Game Preview

Since falling at home to Duke by a score of 81-71 on February 9, the Cavaliers have ripped off six
straight victories. That span includes wins over a trio of ranked conference foes. Virginia is 26-2 (21-
7 ATS) with a mark of 14-2 in conference play. They’re currently tied with North Carolina for the
top spot in the conference.

The Orange are in 6th place in the ACC with a conference record of 10-6, which leaves them four
games off the pace. The team picked up a big 79-54 road victory over Wake Forest on Saturday. That
victory snapped a two-game losing streak. For the year, Syracuse checks in with a mark of 19-10 (17-
12 ATS).

Virginia Cavaliers

Outside of a pair of losses to the Blue Devils, the Cavaliers have been cruising this season. The team
is 9-1 (6-4 ATS) over its last 10 games. They were last in action on Saturday at home versus
Pittsburgh, destroying the visitors to the tune of 73-49. Virginia is 9-1 (9-1 ATS) on the road thus far.
Team totals have been Under for four of the last six and lean that way on the year at 12-16. De’Andre
Hunter leads the way in scoring. He’s averaging 15.2 ppg and 53 boards. Kyle Guy is next up with
15.1 ppg and 4.3 rpg, while Ty Jerome chips in with 13.0 ppg and 5.0 apg.

Syracuse Orange

The victory over the Demon Deacons got the Orange back on the right track after a tough two-game
stretch in which they dropped games to North Carolina and Duke. The Orange are a middle of the
road 5-5 (6-4 ATS) for the last 10. At home this season, Syracuse is 13-5 (10-8 ATS).

Team totals stand at 11-18 for the season with the Under coming in for five of the last six. Tyus
Battle is the biggest offensive force for Syracuse. He averages 17.7 ppg, 3.3 boards, and 2.5 dimes.
Elijah Hughes contributes 13.9 ppg, while Oshae Brissett adds in 12.8 ppg.

Virginia vs. Syracuse Prediction

This will be the first meeting of the season for these two programs. They hooked up twice last season
with Virginia winning both. The Cavaliers have won five of the last seven in the series. Totals are 3-
2-1 over that the span.

Virginia is the better team on paper and we expect them to win outright. However, Syracuse is a
tough place to play and we expect the hosts to make them work for it. We’ll take the home dogs plus
the points.
