Game Preview

After finishing atop the Sun Belt in the regular season with a mark of 13-5, the Panthers officially
punched their ticket with a 73-64 victory over UT Arlington in the conference finals as 4-point
favorites. Overall, Georgia State is 24-9 (17-14-1 ATS).

The Cougars were the top team in the AAC during the regular season at 16-2. They made it to the
conference final versus Cincinnati as 5-point favorites, but they went down to defeat by a score of
69-57. For the year, Houston is 31-3 (21-12-1 ATS).

Georgia State Panthers

Prior to taking down the conference tournament, Georgia State closed out the regular season by
winning three straight. The team has been playing really well on an overall basis down the stretch.
Over the last 10 games, the Panthers are 8-2 (7-2-1 ATS).

Totals are in the middle at 16-16 for the year with the Over coming in for three of the last four.
D’Marcus Simonds is the top option on offense with 18.4 ppg and 3.7 apg. Devin Mitchell
contributes 12.2 ppg, while Malik Benlevi adds in 12.1. Benlevi was the leading scorer in the
conference final with 16 points.

Houston Cougars

Houston made it to 15-0 before suffering its first defeat on the road at Temple in early January. The
team would get right back on track with another 12-game winning streak from that point. For the last
10, the Cougars are 8-2 (5-5 ATS).

Totals have been Under for two of the last three and lean that way on the year at 14-19-1. Corey
Davis Jr. leads Houston in scoring with 16.7 ppg. Armoni Brooks chips in with 13.6 ppg and 6.5
boards. In the loss to Cincinnati, Brooks led the way with 17 points, while Davis Jr. chipped in with
12.

Georgia State vs. Houston March Madness Prediction

The Panthers were invited to the dance last year as well. They lost their opening game to Cincinnati
by a score of 68-53. The Cougars were also in the tournament last year. They made it to the second
round before falling to Michigan by a score of 64-63.

They’re 12-point favorites for this one as they prepare to wipe the taste of a bad performance in the
AAC finals out of their mouths. Houston is the superior team, and we like them to cruise to victory
and cover.
