Game Preview

The Monarchs faced Western Kentucky in the Conference USA tournament final on Saturday. They
were 2.5-point underdogs at tip-off, but they managed to escape with a 62-56 win. On the season,
Old Dominion was 13-5 in conference play and 26-8 (15-19 ATS) overall.

After a strong regular season, Purdue was expected to be a factor in the Big Ten tournament. That
wasn’t meant to be, as the Boilermakers were upset by Minnesota in the quarterfinals. They shared a
piece of the regular season crown with Michigan State and check in at 23-9 (17-14-1 ATS) overall.

Old Dominion Monarchs

Old Dominion was atop the Conference USA standings at the end of the regular season. Highlights
for the year include an eight-game winning streak through the month of February. Over the last 10
games, the Monarchs are 8-2 (3-7 ATS).

Totals have been Under for the last seven in a row and trend that way for the year at 13-20. B.J. Stith
is the top option on offense. He’s averaging 16.9 ppg and 7.4 boards. Ahmad Caver contributes 16.5
ppg and 5.6 dimes. Xavier Green led the way versus Western Kentucky with 16 points.

Purdue Boilermakers

Not much was expected of Purdue when they entered conference play with a record of 8-5, but an
eight-game winning streak from January into February put the conference on notice. The team was
16-4 versus familiar foes during the regular season. For the last 10, the Boilermakers are 7-3 (4-5-1

Totals have been Over for three of the last four and check in at 17-15 thus far. Carsen Edwards is the
top option on offense for Purdue with 23.0 ppg. Ryan Cline adds in 11.9 ppg and 3.3 apg. Matt
Haarms topped the team in scoring in the loss to Minnesota with 16 points.

Old Dominion vs. Purdue March Madness Prediction

This will be the first March Madness appearance for Old Dominion since 2011. They fell to Butler in
their opening game by a score of 60-58. The year before that, the team made it to round two before
falling by eight points to Baylor.

Purdue has been invited to the dance for the last four years. Last year, the team made it to the Sweet
Sixteen before losing to Texas Tech by a score of 68-55. The team made it the Sweet Sixteen in 2017
as well, but they were bounced in round one the prior two years.

The Boilermakers are simply the better and more talented team here, and we like them to pick up the
win and cover.
