Westgate Odds to Win 2019 Heisman Award

The relationship between team wins and the Heisman Award handicaps a player that isn’t a part of a school that records more wins than losses. In the history of the award only one player has won the award when their team had a losing record. That player was Paul Hornung who played for Notre Dame in 1056.

Similarly there have been 14 Heisman winners that played for the team that won the national championship. And as large a part as the media plays in which player is properly pimped the last 10 national championship schools have also included four Heisman winners.

And since the first man landed on the moon, in 1969, there has been only one Heisman winner that played on a team with four or more losses.

Pop quiz:

What is the relationship between team wins and the Heisman Trophy?

They go hand-in-hand.

When selecting a Heisman College Football Future put the percentages in your favor.  History tells us that the best player doesn’t always win the best player award. And when selecting, prognosticating which player will be handed the trophy in December, it would behoove one to also pick a player from not just a winning team but one that is most likely to be one from the New Year’s Six.
