Two Western Conference teams with high playoff hopes and with almost identical records are clashing today, when the New Orleans Pelicans (12-12), are hosting the Denver Nuggets (13-10), with both teams looking to bounce back after defeats in their latest matchups.

Date/Time:  12-06-2017, 20:00 EDT

Spread: New Orleans Pelicans -5

Total: +220.5

Pelicans have a 12-12 record (13-11 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the 8th place of the West. They have lost four of their last five matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Warriors with a 115-125 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by DeMarcus Cousins with 25.3 ppg, adding 5.2 assists and a team high 12.2 rebounds per game. He is followed by Anthony Davis with 25.2 ppg and 11 rebounds but he is out with an injury.

Nuggets have a 12-10 record (9-14 against the spread) so far this season and are sitting in the 5th place of the West. In their last game they saw a two-game winning streak getting snapped by losing on the road against Dallas with a 105-122 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Will Barton with 15.8 ppg, adding 5.2 rebounds. He is followed by Nikola Jokic with 15.5 ppg, adding a team high 10.6 rebounds per game but he is unavailable duo to injury.

In their previous meeting earlier this season, Nuggets won at home with a 146-114 score. Pelicans are 5-6 at home so far this season, while Nuggets are 3-8 on the road. Pelicans are better offensively, scoring 108.9 ppg to Nuggets’ 106.8, while Nuggets are better defensively, allowing 107 ppg to Pelicans’ 110.1. Pelicans have a better field goal percentage, shooting with 48% to Nuggets’ 45.9%, while Nuggets have a better 3-point percentage, shooting with 36.6% to Pelicans’ 36%. Nuggets are better in rebounding, grabbing 45.1 to Pelicans’ 43.8 and in turnovers committed (15.9 to 16.2), while Pelicans are better in assists made, with a second-best of 26.2 to Nuggets’ 23.2. Both teams are missing their star players and Vegas odds give Pelicans a -5 spread and expect them to beat those odds for the home victory today.
