Now that the English Premier League has started up again, we are all just waiting until Liverpool officially clinch the title, which should probably happen in the next week or two. It was always going to be something of an anti-climactic end to the season given that Liverpool basically had the whole thing tied up even before we went into the shutdown. There are, though, still some things to be decided, including the European places, which is somewhat up in the air as we wait for UEFA to respond to Manchester City’s appeal of their 2-year ban. That will all be sorted out sooner rather than later, but we are going to need to wait a little while longer to see how the relegation battle plays out. It’s a race for survival down at the bottom of the EPL, with Aston Villa down in the thick of it all. It goes without saying that this is an absolutely huge game for Villa as they seek to pick up the points they need for survival. Newcastle will not be looking to deliver any favors at home, but this should be a tight one. The bookies have this in a PK play, with the goal total set at 2 ½.

Why bet on Newcastle
The biggest headlines in Newcastle right now are taking place off the field, as the search for new owners continues. Everything is all a little bit up in the air at the moment, as players and coaches have no idea how things will play out if a sale does finally go through. All they can do is continue as normal, or as normal as it gets right now, and continue to put in the effort for the remainder of the season. Newcastle made a very good return to action, taking out Sheffield United 3-0 at home over the weekend. They played a chunk of the game playing against 10-men, but they were full value for the win. Newcastle are now 6-6-3 at home this season, scoring 15 and surrendering 12.
Why bet on Aston Villa
It has been a busy week or so for Aston Villa, as this will be their third game since returning from the suspension of play. That they have only picked up a single point in the 2 games played prior to this one is going to be a real cause for concerns, especially since Villa are currently occupying one of the relegations spots at the bottom of the table. They were a little lucky to get a 0-0 draw against Sheffield United, but perhaps a little unlucky to lose 2-1 to Chelsea in a game that they were leading at half-time. Villa are still only 1 point away from the safety zone and they will be looking at this as an opportunity, as they beat Newcastle 2-0 in their earlier meeting this season. On the road, Aston Villa are 2-2-11, scoring 16 and giving up 32.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I think the bookies have it right in making this one a PK play, as I expect this to be a very tight affair. I am leaning towards the draw and the UNDER.
