Chelsea are coming off a really weird Carabao Cup final, where they also lost to Manchester City. The match was marked by a clash between Kepa and coach Sarri and things are boiling right now. Chelsea will now have to pick up their pieces and get back on their feet. They will host London rivals Tottenham on Wednesday, for the 28th round of the Premier League. Tottenham were in great shape lately but suffered a tough loss against Burnley.

Chelsea (15-6-5) are in kind of a tough spot after losing in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City. Chelsea fought really hard, at least in the defensive end and held strong through regular and extra time. Goalkeeper Kepa did not obey the coach’s decision for substitution and they ended up losing. The climate in the team is really strange right now, especially with Chelsea struggling lately (3-3-1). The Blues are currently 6th in the Premier League with 50 points, three behind the 4th Arsenal. That is the goal for Chelsea, and a ticket to the Champions League. They have been really good at home this season (8-1-4), where they have conceded just 9 goals (2nd best home defense).

On the other hand, Tottenham (20-7-0) are coming off a bad loss on the road against Burnley. They were actually the better team in the pitch but conceded a late goal to lose by 2-1. That loss came after four consecutive wins in all competitions for Tottenham. The Spurs are still sitting at the 3rd spot of the league table with 60 points. They are five behind Manchester City and six behind Liverpool, still fighting for the title. Tottenham also have the best away record in the league (11-3-0), and the best away offense with 31 goals. They might have not won any of their last three away matches in all competitions but they have five consecutive wins prior to that.

The two teams also met in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, where they exchanged home wins. Chelsea won in the penalty shootout at home but it was Tottenham who won in the first round of the Premier League prior to that.

Chelsea have been excellent as hosts in this match-up, losing just once in the past two decades (15-1-7). Each of the last five matches between the two in this venue had goals from both sides and at least Over 2.5 Goals. Chelsea have some issues to deal with so I will take the Over 2.5 Goals here.
