Liverpool have been really inconsistent lately and are coming off yet another disappointing result against West Ham. They will now have a really good chance to return to winning ways and to the top of the league table when they will host Bournemouth on Saturday. Bournemouth slowed down after a massive win over Chelsea but still remain rather weak on the road.

Liverpool (19-1-5) took an early lead with Mane in their away match against West Ham over the weekend. But their opponents pulled right back at the 26th, and even though Liverpool kept on pummeling they were unable to find a winning goal. That was their second consecutive 1-1 draw, as Liverpool have now won just two of their last six matches in all competitions (2-2-2). They are now temporarily sitting at the 2nd spot of the league table with 62 points, just as many as Manchester City who have one more match and better goal difference. Even so, Liverpool are the only team to not have lost yet at home (10-0-2), scoring 32 goals and conceding just 7 in the process.
On the other hand, Bournemouth (10-12-3) met a really frustrating 0-2 loss on the road against Cardiff last week. They were really unlucky at the start of the match and allowed their opponents to take the lead with a penalty kick. Cardiff scored another goal at the start of the second half and there was nothing Bournemouth could do. Prior to that, they had the biggest result of the season so far, a 0-4 home win over Chelsea. They have now won just two of their last five, losing the other three. Bournemouth are currently 10th in the league table with 33 points, with a safe, 11-point distance from the red line. But they have struggled a lot on the road, coming off eight consecutive losses in their travels.
Liverpool easily won by 4-0 on the road in the first round and can certainly double their wins here. They have only lost once to Bournemouth in ten matches over the years (8-1-1) and have won three and drawn one at home.
Liverpool are desperate for a win that will restore them at the top spot and will grant them some much-needed serenity. I will go with the home team to record a nice win against a Bournemouth side who haven’t been anything special on the road.
Premier League Liverpool vs Bournemouth Prediction: Liverpool -2 (-114)
