This Sunday we have the marquee match-up of Manchester United against Liverpool in the Premier League. The two teams have been in pretty good shape lately but Manchester United will be looking for revenge. It was the 1-3 loss in the reverse fixture back in December that signaled the end of coach Mourinho. Both teams will fight for the three points in what can easily turn into a goal-fest.

Manchester United (15-5-6) are coming off a great away win against Chelsea in the FA Cup. Chelsea were really numb in that match and Manchester United scored twice in the first half to win by 2-0. They really needed to find continuity in another competition, as they have it hard in the Champions League. They met a really bad 2-0 loss at home against Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of the round of 16. And their place in the next round is far from secured. Even so, that was their only loss in 13 matches under coach Solskjaer (11-1-1). Manchester United are now sitting at the 4th spot of the league table with 51 points, just one ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal. Manchester United have also been great at home (7-1-4), where they were undefeated in ten matches prior to their loss in the Champions League.
On the other hand, Liverpool (20-1-5) somehow played for a goal-less draw at home against Bayern Munich. The two teams met in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 and were stuck at a boring draw. Prior to that, Liverpool had a really easy job in a 0-3 home win against Bournemouth in the Premier League. They are now undefeated in their last six (3-0-3). keeping three clean sheets in that span. Liverpool are currently sitting at the 2nd spot of the Premier League with 65 points, just as many as Manchester City. But they have one less match, so even a draw here would put them back at the top. Liverpool have been equally good on the road so far in the Premier League (9-1-3). But they have won just one of their last four away matches in all competitions (1-2-1), scoring in all four.
Liverpool beat Manchester United by an easy 1-3 earlier in the season. That defeat sparked the change in coach for the Red Devils. Each team has won once, and three other matches were draws in the last five between the two.
Manchester United have been excellent as hosts against Liverpool over the past decade, losing just once here (9-1-2). But Liverpool have scored in each of their last four trips here. Something similar could be in the books here, but I will back the home team.
