They will not be the top-10 teams in terms of league standings, but what we believe are the teams that are deserving of the top spots in the NHL. Buster Sports dominated the NHL last year with a record of 166-126-9, making their clients a PROFIT OF 115.68%.

Buster’s Top-10 NHL Teams (Nov. 11 – Nov. 17)

The Bruins have made it to the Top of our Top 10 list and they stay there this week as they still have only lost one game in regulation. This is what we said last week of the Bruins and what a difference a week makes. The Bruins came crashing down to earth with a 1-3 week and truth be told, they could have lost the only game that they had won. They stay at the top of our list because they have been the best team in the league and speaking from our NHL picks this weekend everyone is aloud a bad week. In addition, we did say no matter what happens they will be our Top team this week. They have 3 tough games this week and lets see if they can bounce back just as we hope to do with our NHL releases.

The forgotten club had another great week going 2-0 and they are chomping at the bit to get our number 1 spot. This team is playing great hockey just as the Bruins have been and the two clubs face each other this week. It looks like our concern with goaltending on the Capitals is starting to get better and if that continues this club is dangerous. They have now won 10 out of their last 11 games. They have 4 games this week and the Saturday showdown against Boston will be must see TV. The winner of that game will be NUMBER ONE on our list next week.

The NYI keep climbing our list going from number 5 to number 3 this week. Not sure if they will be able to crack the top two teams anytime soon but we are very impressed by the hockey this club is playing. They went 2-1 on the week and their only loss was a brutal one. They had a 3-0 lead going into the 3rd period and lost 4-3 in OT to Pittsburgh. We cannot believe that we didn’t have the Islanders in that spot as this is how we love to lose games all year so far. (that’s my little piss and moan for the day but we know it’s a long season) It is easy for clubs to fall into a false sense of security in this league and that is why you see teams lose 2 and 3 goal leads in the 3rd period all the time. We will forgive the Islanders for this one. They play only 2 games this week but one is at home against the Leafs. As long as John Tavares is playing for Toronto this will be circled on the Islanders calendar every year.

The Avalanche stay at Number 4 and we are very impressed in how they have bounced back this week especially after losing Miko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog to injury for quite some time. (the Avs are not really saying how long but it will be weeks if not months) Colorado destroyed our previous Number 3 club the Nashville Predators 9-4 on Thursday and went 2-1 on the week. It looks like they have finally adjusted to playing without two of their top players. We will be interested to see how this week plays out for them as they now hit the road. The Avalanche go on a 5 game road trip and play 3 of them this week. They play the dreaded Western Canada road trip in a way that we have never seen in quite sometime or maybe never. In other words that is going to make it that much tougher for a team that is already playing shorthanded. If they can go 2-3 on this trip, they should be pleased considering their situation.

Our Number 1 team for the start of the season won both games this week against the Sabres in Sweden. This has moved them up one spot but we will still keep a very careful eye on them, as winning two games against Buffalo doesn’t mean they are back on track just yet. They now have a bunch of days off and do not play until Thursday this week. They should be good and rested and should dominate the 2 games they have this week both at home. They must win both games or they drop from this spot next week.

The Predators take a big drop from our list this week going from 3rd to 6th and believe me they should maybe be put into 7th but we will see what happens this week. They went 1-2 on the week but were a complete no show in Colorado, and had a very lackluster game in San Jose and lost in a SO. They finish their road trip on Tuesday in Vancouver and the only other game of the week is home on Saturday against the Blackhawks. They must win both games or they will drop another spot if not more. This team has too much talent to play the way they have been playing and although we know as well as anyone that it is still early in the NHL season, no one can take weeks off in this league. This is what the Predators have done the last two weeks and they need to get back to winning.

The Blues have really impressed us since losing 4 in a row and falling out of our list. This is what we said last week and now they just turned that up a notch by going through the dreaded Western Canada road trip and winning all 3 games that they played. Since they received the bad news that Vladimir Tarasenko will miss at least five months they have not missed a beat. We all remember what they did last year when Tarasenko missed a bunch of games and this looks no different. They have now won 7 games in a row and will have 3 winnable games this week. They keep their spot next week even if they slide a little. However if they have a 10 game win streak at this time next week they will find themselves up the list.

The Oilers had a 2-2 week but they stay in their spot at 8th on our list. Even though they went 2-2 they have looked much better offensively. It looks like HC Tippett might have let the boys open it up a bit as playing the defensive type of hockey that Tippett is known for has not really worked. However, there is no doubt the Oilers are a way better defensive club so far. As we always say at this time of year, it is very early to see exactly what this club will be especially come February. They are a wait and see club for us. What we do know is that they have two of the most explosive guys in the league in McDavid and Draisaitl and that should keep the club winning games. They have 3 games this week and if they win 2 out of 3 they will stay in our list.

The Flyers crack our Top 10 and make it to number 9 on our list as they have been playing some solid hockey of late. They have now won 5 out of their last 6 games and beating the hated Leafs always gets solid points from us. What we really like about this club is that they win close games. They have won 4 of these games in a SO or OT and their only loss in their last 6 games was in a SO. We have talked about how this Flyers club is very streaking so it will be interesting to see if they can keep this going. They play 3 games this week with two of those games at home against Washington and the NYI. Two out of three wins for the week keeps them on our list for next week.

The Flames join our Top 10 after a 2-1 week that could have been 3-0 except they lost in OT to the very hot St. Louis Blues. Calgary has been a real disappointment to us early in the year but it looks like they are starting to play some quality hockey. They have now won 4 out of 6 games and they play 3 games this upcoming week. As long as they win 2 out of 3 games, they will stay in our Top 10. If not they will be out as we have several teams that are knocking on the door to get in.
