Las Vegas Restaurant Review: Via Brasil Steakhouse

Last Updated on

I have been writing this column for over three years now and I haven’t reviewed a single Brazilian steakhouse. We have several across the Las Vegas Valley so this week we finally wrote one up.

I met a friend at Via Brasil Steakhouse located at 1225 S. Fort Apache Road. If you are a meat lover like me this is the way to go. At Via Brasil they have two dinner options. The first is what they call Rodizio Prime, which for $39.99 is going to let you enjoy their soup, salad and appetizer bar and then feast on your choice of 15 different kinds of meats and 18 different side dishes.

If you have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse it’s quite a treat. You just sit at your table while waiters come around with all the different meats and carve them right before your eyes. Pace yourself though, as you want to sample everything and with 15 choices you can fill up fast.

You will feast on a variety of meats such as chicken, pork and beef. They even had turkey wrapped in bacon. The stars of the Rodizio Prime menu, for me, were the Prime Rib, Brazilian Pork, Beef Short Ribs and BBQ Baby Back Ribs.

If 15 meats aren’t enough for you, for $10 more you can get the Rodizio Sterling Menu with at least 21 total meats, including New York Steak, Porterhouse, Leg of Lamb, Lamb Chops and Grilled Shrimp. As you can guess, we went with the Sterling option and the porterhouse and lamb chops alone made it worth the extra $10.

The waiters keep bringing food until you put up a stop sign. Each person receives a round disc that looks like a drink coaster – one side is red, one side is green. When you have the green side up they just keep bringing the meat. When you need a breather just turn it to the red side and they will leave you alone.

There is no limit to how much you can eat. In addition to all the meats they have 18 different side dishes served family style. My favorites were the grilled corn, sautéed mushrooms, fried bananas and grilled cheese. I have to say the grilled cheese was incredible as they literally take cheese and grill it. It’s hard to describe but trust me you’ll want seconds.

I didn’t mention everything on the gourmet appetizer/salad bar – they have 35 different items to start off with. I do like the grilled vegetables along with an assortment of meats and cheeses. The prosciutto is exceptional.

This is a great place for a dinner date or business dinner as you can take your time eating while having a nice conversation. This is also a great alternative to the many buffets on the Strip. For the same money as a Vegas buffet you can feast on so many great cuts of meat. Yes, this is meat overload but if that’s what you’re in the mood for you will not be disappointed.

The waiters were amazing as everyone works as a team bringing all the different meats to your table and answering all your questions regarding the different meats. I give Via Brasil Steakhouse a rating of 3.75 Forks.
