Oklahoma State squares off against Texas Tech for a Super Tuesday ESPN News event. The tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET tonight at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. Free College Basketball Pick: Cowboys at Red Raiders.

OSU visits nationally ranked Texas Tech coming off an overtime win over intrastate rival Oklahoma. The Cowboys are winless as a visitor in league play this season. However, their lack of road wins have been about their inability to score, not due to their defense. Oklahoma’s three conferences losses on the road this season is deceiving. The young Cowboys weren’t efficient in their ball-pressure defense at Baylor, at Kansas State and in Norman against the Sooners. Oki State’s 187th ranking in points allowed this season is better than it reads.

In addition the Cowboys 65th ranking in points scored isn’t as good as the stat sheet would suggest. The balanced Cowboy offense is inconsistent, at best, and there is not disputing the ability of the Red Raiders to defend, especially on their home floor.

The Red Raiders (-9, 142) come into this Super Tuesday contest undefeated at home but ride a two-game losing streak due to their offensive liabilities.

back-to-back games thanks to a faltering offense. Texas Tech is playing with a number of walking wounded. The list includes senior Zach Smith and G Aleksa Jugovic who is questionable for tonight’s game.

The Cowboys backcourt of Jeffrey Carroll, Tavarius Shine and Kendall Smith lead the OSU offense. There isn’t a single Oki State player that is capable of carrying the offense nor having an over-the-top offensive explosion on any given night.

The offensive struggles of the Raiders start with Keenan Evans who leads the Red Raiders with 16.6 points per game. However, it is on the defensive end of the floor in which Tech shines. The Red Raiders rank fourth nationally in scoring defense allowing a mere 62 points per game.
