Coronavirus Update: Which Sports Are Still Playing?

Last Updated on

With the help of William Hill, we will do our best to keep this page updated with sports that are still being played, AND available for wagering. To the best of our knowledge, here are the competitions that are still in progress:

Horse Racing

The Kentucky Derby has been postponed until September, but horse racing is continuing across the country in a limited capacity. The three main tracks that have continued operations are Tampa Bay Downs and Gulfstream Park in Florida, and Oaklawn Park in Arkansas. Smaller tracks like Fonner Park and Will Rodgers Downs have provided some entertainment on Mondays and Tuesdays. At the moment, the next “big” racing weekend will be May 1-3 at Oaklawn for the Arkansas Derby.

WagerTalk’s horse racing expert SIG has been focused on the two tracks in Florida, specifically the spring meet at Gulfstream Park. Check out our Horse Racing 101 Guide if you’re interested in placing some bets.

Soccer

There are a small handful of competitions being played across the globe, most notably the Belarusian Premier League and the Nicaraguan Premier League. Both leagues are available for wagering at William Hill.

Handball

Back to Belarus one more time. William Hill in Nevada is offering lines on Belarus Division 1 handball competitions. Meshkov Brest is 23-1 on the season and hasn’t lost a league match since September. You probably don’t want to bet against them.

E-Sports

Yes folks, you read that right: The Nevada Gaming Commission has actually allowed wagering on E-Sports. William Hill is offering odds on a variety of E-Sports competitions, most notably the Counter-Strike ESL Pro League North America matches.

Basketball

There is one basketball league in competition right now, and it’s the Taiwan Super Basketball League. There is a little over a week left in their league year, with the regular season scheduled to end on April 12. William Hill in Nevada is offering lines on individual games.

Table Tennis

Last, but certainly not least: European table tennis. William Hill in Nevada is accepting wagers on the following competitions: SEKTA Cup, TT Cup, Moscow Liga Pro, and Czech TT Star Series.
