With less than 48 hours before the first pitch of the 2018 season, bettors have high hopes for the Chicago White Sox, and not as much faith in the Tampa Bay Rays. The South Point sportsbook in Las Vegas has released their updated MLB win totals, and Chicago has risen from an opening number of 66.5 projected wins to 71. On the flip side, the Rays have gone from opening at 77.5 wins to their current total of 73.5.

It’s hard to bet against the Washington Nationals in the NL East. They appear to be the class of the division once again. However, I’m not sure I see 94 wins for this team. Fangraphs has the Nationals projected at 90-72 this season. He had a fantastic year in 2017, but health has always been a concern with Stephen Strasburg. Max Scherzer has thrown 170+ innings for nine-straight seasons, and has averaged 205 innings/year since 2009. Eventually, there’s going to be some wear-and-tear on those legs. As we look ahead to the 2018 MLB season, the Washington Nationals under 93.5 wins is one of my favorite bets on the card.
