2019 Tiger Woods Golf Major Props
The legend of Tiger Woods will continue for years to come whether he wins another major in his career or not. Of course winning additional events as he did this past weekend will only add to his folklore. It is a stretch to place Woods in the same category as Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.
Or is it?
Is Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors now threatened by a healthy Tiger? Will Woods win another major this year? Can Tiger tackle the 7500 yard length of Bethpage Black in May? Is Pebble Beach a good fit for a Tiger victory in June?
Tiger won the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black in his prime. In addition he conquered the field in the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach and did so by 15 strokes. It is worth noting that Tiger will play his first competitive round at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland if in fact he is healthy and ready for the final Major this year, The Open in August.
While it isn’t the only reason he won his fifth green jacket this past weekend one of the variables for his victory was his intimate relationship with Augusta National. Tiger is as familiar with the course as anyone who played this weekend. Most important his history with the course is documented. You don’t guess for four rounds at Augusta and win five green jackets.
