In Game 2 of the only Italian Basketball League (Lega Basket Serie A) quarterfinal that the road team emerged victorious in the first game, the fourth-seeded Sidigas Avellino (20-10), looking to bounce back today and even the series, are hosting once again the fifth-seeded Aquila Basket Trento (18-12) who lead the series 1-0. Trento finished the regular season with an 18-12 record and were placed 5th in the league. They have won eight of their last nine games and in their latest matchup they won on the road against Avellino in game 1 with a 77-79 score. They are led in scoring by Dominique Sutton with 13.4 ppg, adding a team high 7.8 rebounds per game. He is followed by Shavon Shields with 13.1 ppg, adding 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, while Chane Behanan adds 12.3 ppg and 5.4 rebounds.

Avellino finished the regular season with a 20-10 record and were tied with Brescia in the 3rd place of the league table but ended up 4th by losing the tie-breaker. In their last game they saw a two-game winning streak getting snapped by losing at home in game 1 against Trento with a 77-79 score. They are led in scoring by Jason Rich with 19.3 ppg, adding 3 assists per game. He is followed by Dez Wells with 11.6 ppg, while Kyrylo Fesenko adds 10.2 ppg and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Avellino lead Trento 2-1 wins so far this season and both games in Avellino have been extremely close, with each team winning once (Avellino by 4 points and Trento by 2). Avellino have a 12-4 home record so far this season, while Trento are 8-8 on the road. Avellino have a better offense with 83.1 ppg to Trento’s 80.8, while Trento are better defensively, allowing 76.8 ppg to Avellino’s 77.1. Avellino lead the league both in field goal percentage, shooting with 50.4% to Trento’s 45.8% and in 3-pointers, shooting with 40% to Trento’s 34.3%. Avellino also grab more rebounds (34.4 to 33.6) and dish more assists (18.7 to 13.4), while Trento commit fewer turnovers (12.3 to 14.6). Avellino are better on paper and are desperate for this win in order to avoid a disastrous 2-0 Trento lead. Vegas odds give them a -5.5 spread and expect them to beat the odds for the home victory.
