Barcelona are coming off a massive win in the Copa del Rey against Sevilla and secured a spot to the semi-finals of the competition. They will now remain at home for their next assignment, where they will play host to Valencia. Valencia also grabbed a nice qualification to the next round of the Copa del Rey and have actually been in really good form lately.

Barcelona (15-2-4) played a really majestic match at home against Sevilla in the second leg of the Cop del Rey quarter-finals. They had lost by 0-2 on the road in the first leg but they pretty much destroyed their opponents in the second leg, beating them by a massive 1-6 and easily moving to the next round. Last week in the La Liga they had another easy job in that 2-0 away win against Girona and have now won five of their last six matches in all competitions and each of their last eight matches for the La Liga. They are still sitting at the top of the league table with 49 points, five ahead of Atletico Madrid. Barca have been equally good at home (8-1-2) where they have five consecutive wins, and also have five more wins and a draw in other competitions.
On the other hand, Valencia (6-4-11) had lost by 0-1 on the road in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals against Getafe. The second leg at home didn’t start off well, as their opponents took the lead at just the 1st minute. Valencia pulled even at the hour mark and went on to score twice in the stoppage time to eventually win by 1-3 and forced their way to the semis. Prior to that they beat Villarreal by a comfortable 0-3 at home and Valencia have now won four of their last five matches in all competitions but have kept just two clean sheets in the last two months. They are sitting at the 7th spot of the league table with 29 points, two behind Getafe and three behind Alaves. Valencia have been mediocre on the road (3-3-4) where they have failed to keep a single clean sheet in their last seven matches in all competitions.
The two teams played for a 1-1 draw in the first round in Valencia, as Barcelona extended their undefeated streak in this match-up to seven matches (4-0-3). They have also won five of the last six matches as hosts against Valencia and another win is more than probable here.
Valencia have been quite competitive this season and they have an awful lot of draws so far. They can certainly challenge Barcelona when at home, but Valencia have struggled on the road lately and are in for a pretty rough ride here.
