In this battle between the two of the three worse teams of the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks (20-45), who are looking to turn a rare victory into a streak, are hosting the Memphis Grizzlies (18-47), who are running the longest losing streak currently in the league, having lost sixteen straight.  Memphis Grizzlies vs Dallas Mavericks Spread and Prediction.

Date/Time:  03-10-2018, 20:30 EDT

Spread: Dallas Mavericks -8.5

Total: +204

Mavericks have a 20-45 record (33-31-1 against the spread) so far this season. Dallas is currently out of the postseason picture sitting in the third to last slot of the West. In their last game they snapped a three-game losing streak by winning at home against the Nuggets with a 118-107 score, beating the odds. They are led in scoring Harrison Barnes with 18.4 ppg. The veteran adds a team high 6.4 rebounds per game. He is followed by the rookie Dennis Smith Jr with 145 ppg, 3.9 rpg and a team high 5 assists per game, while Wesley Matthews adds 12.8 ppg.

Grizzlies have an 18-47 record (27-36-2 against the spread) so far this season. Memphis rests at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. They have sixteen consecutive losses and in their last game they lost at home against the Jazz with a 78-95 score, not beating the odds. The Griz are led in scoring by Tyreke Evans with 19.4 ppg. Evans adds 5.1 rebounds and a team high 5.1 assists per game but he is out with an injury. He is followed by Marc Gasol with 17.7 ppg and a team high 8.5 rebounds per game, while Mike Conley will miss the rest of the season.

Mavericks lead the Grizzlies 2-1 wins so far this season and the previous game in Dallas ended with a 103-94 score for the Mavs. Dallas is 13-21 at home so far this season. The Grizzlies are 5-26 on the road. The Mavericks are better offensively, scoring 102.4 ppg to Grizzlies’ league-low of 98.8, while Grizzlies are better defensively, allowing 103.6 ppg to Mavs’ 105.1. The Mavs have better percentages both in field goals (44.6% to 44.28%) and in 3-pointers (36.61% to 34.72%) and they are also better in assists made, with 22.6 to Grizzlies’ 21.3 and both teams grab almost the same number of rebounds per game (40.7 and 40.6). Dallas is the absolute favorite against the weakest team of the league right now. Vegas odds give them a -8.5 spread which they are expected to beat for an easy home victory.
