Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees Game Info

Take a look at the MLB standings right now and you will see that the vast majority of the division leaders
are teams that no-one really expected to be at the top. You will also see that some of the preseason
favorites are struggling in the early going. If you have watched professional baseball at all over the years,
you will be well aware that the cream eventually finds a way to rise to the top. Those division leaders of
today will eventually fall back to the pack as the favorites hit a groove and start to climb. For now,
though, it’s fun to see things as mixed up as they are, which includes seeing the Yankees sitting below
.500, which is extraordinary for a team expected to be vying for the AL East Division title. They will
eventually find their way, and they may actually start doing do this weekend. They will be hosting the
Chicago White Sox for the next few days and will open up on Friday as a 1 ½ point favorite. The run total
for this one has been set at 9 ½.

Why bet on the Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are, to no-one’s real surprise, off to a lousy start this season, sitting at just 3-8 in the early
going. They come into this one riding a 5-game losing streak that has then sitting 4 ½ games off the pace
already in the Central Division. What is surprising here, though, is that they have been better on the
road than they have been at home, going 2-3 away from home versus just 1-5 in their own building.
While Chicago have gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 visits to the Big Apple, they are also just 5-16 SU in their
last 21 games in New York. They are also on a streak where they have failed to cover the spread in each
of their last 5 games, so not much to like here. The White Sox will send Lucas Giolito (1-1, 5.73 ERA) to
the mound on Friday night.

Why bet on the New York Yankees

Last season, the AL East quickly turned into a 2-horse race between the Yankees and the Red Sox, with
Boston eventually getting the upper hand on their bitter rivals. The general feeling was that we would
see a similar race this year, but things are not shaping up that way in the early going. The Red Sox and
Yankees have combined for just 9 wins thus far, with New York sitting at 5-7, 4 ½ games off the pace
being set by the Tampa Bay Rays. They come into this one on a 3-game losing skid after being swept by
the Houston Astros earlier this week. The Yankees are back home now, but they are just 2-4 SU in their
own ball park. It will be J.A. Happ (0-1, 6.48 ERA) who will start for New York.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

It is only really a matter of time before the Yankees get back in gear and start to put some pressure on
the Rays at the top of the division. A good run of form may get it’s start in this series against the woeful
White Sox. I am on the Yankees to win and cover on Friday night.
