Caesars Palace 2019 MLB Season Team Win Totals
The 2019 Major League Baseball season has seen the first pitch albeit in an international event. The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics opened the campaign at the Tokyo Dome. The two AL West foes executed the equivalent of fireworks in the first of two games in Japan.
This marked the earliest MLB opening day ever. And it took place on the last day of winter. Oakland’s Mike Fiers threw the first pitch at 5:36 a.m. EDT (6:36 p.m. local Japan time). Seattle starter Marco Gonzales lasted six innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits, and earned the win in a 9-7 final.
Any thought that the 2019 season opener would be a pitching dual left the park in quick fashion. Oakland’s Stephen Piscotty took a low pitch from Gonzales in the bottom of the first inning to the deepest part of the Tokyo Dome for the first home run of the new season.
The aforementioned fireworks came in the form of home runs. Similarly it felt like a celebration rather than a game when future Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki was introduced as part of Seattle’s starting lineup. Ichiro batted ninth and played right field and upon his jog onto the field during pregame introductions the public address announcer couldn’t be heard over the ovation from the Japanese baseball faithful.
The MLB Future for Season Team Wins on the Caesars Race and Sportsbook chart below finds the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners off the board. This due to the two American League rivals having played their season opener.
The “Palace” has positioned the New York Yankees win total at 97.5 games, the most for any franchise. The Houston Astros check in on the Caesars Entertainment chart at 97 wins. The Boston Red Sox (94), Los Angeles Dodgers (93) and Cleveland Indians (91) round out the top-five.
