Chicago Fire will surely be lacking match fitness when they will host Orlando City on Sunday. Their last competitive match dates more than three weeks ago, so they will surely struggle with match fitness. Orlando City have been one of the least impressive teams in the MLS this season and have been in bad form lately. Both teams are actually sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and have very slim playoff chances.

Chicago Fire (6-15-6) last played a match on August 28th, which was a friendly match against Bayern Munich. The German team was honoring Bastian Schweinsteiger and defeated Chicago Fire by 0-4. Their last competitive match was a 1-1 draw at home against Columbus in August 24th. Chicago conceded a late goal that deprived them of all three points and extended their win-less streak to seven matches (0-6-1). Chicago Fire are sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with 24 points, just as many as their opponents. They have the worst home record in the Conference too (4-7-3), having won just one of their last five (1-3-1).
On the other hand, Orlando City (7-17-3) were actually pretty feisty in their away match against Sporting Kansas City. They fought really hard for a result, but conceded the only goal of the match at the 53rd minute for the final 0-1. Orlando City have been in pathetic form lately, as they have not won in the past two months (0-7-2). Their last win dates three months back, so that awful run has pinned them at the bottom of the Conference. They have 24 points and little to no chances to make the playoffs. To make matters worse, Orlando City have the worst away record in the Conference (2-11-0), having lost each of their last ten.
Chicago Fire defeated Orlando City by a nice 2-1 in Orlando earlier in the season. They still have the upper hand in this match-up (4-2-4), but Orlando have stood great in this venue (2-3-1). Four of those matches featured goals from both sides and five of those had at least four goals.
This is a match between two very disappointed and disappointing teams, so it can go either way. They both still have chances to make the playoffs but it is highly unlikely. There is no reason for any of the two to play defensively here, so I will gladly take the Over 3.25 Goals here.
MLS Chicago Fire vs Orlando City Prediction: Over 3.25 Goals (-103)
