Colorado looked like they were starting an undefeated streak earlier in June, but have now lost two in a row. They have easily been one of the weakest teams in the MLS so far, and this time they will be taking on Houston. Houston are coming off a really solid win at home against Minnesota, that came after two unsuccessful results. But they have been in pretty solid form lately and will now look to get inside the playoff spots.

The Colorado Rapids (4-11-3) were destroyed in their last match, when they were hosted by Montreal. They failed to create a single scoring chance in the first half, while their opponents were pushing hard. Montreal eventually managed to score twice in a two-minute span (55th and 56th). Colorado only had two shots on target in the entire match, and one of them turned into a consolation goal at the 78th minute for the final 1-2. Colorado are still sitting at the penultimate spot of the Western Conference with 15 points, three ahead of San Jose. Their home record is nothing special (3-5-2), while they have conceded at least twice in each of their last seven here.
On the other hand, Houston (7-6-4) are coming off a dominant performance at home against Minnesota United. Houston showed their intentions from the get-go, as they took control early in the match. They took the lead at the 36th minute with Senderos and kept on pushing at the second half. Senderos scored his second goal at the 52nd minute, while Elis scored a late goal for the final 0-3. Houston really needed to return to winning ways after two matches, and have now won four of their last six (4-1-1). They are sitting at the 7th spot of the Western Conference with 25 points, just as many as the Galaxy. Both teams are just one point behind the 6th Vancouver and the playoff spots. Houston have not been very strong on the road though (1-4-3), having only kept a single clean sheet.
The Colorado Rapids have dominated this match-up over the past decade (10-4-5). But it was Houston who won by 0-2 at home when the two met earlier in the season. Even so, Houston are traditionally bad on the road, and they haven’t won in this venue in 10 years (0-6-2).
Both teams have really bad defensive lines, but they usually score a lot as well. Colorado have scored in all their home matches so far but have only kept two clean sheets. Houston have scored in all but one away matches but have failed to keep a single clean sheet. This has goal-fest written all over it.
