NYCFC were playing without a key player against Montreal, but managed to record a very easy win on Tuesday. They have been in very good form lately, and they will now play host to Columbus Crew on Saturday. Columbus are coming off a really bad loss in their last match, and will be looking to bounce back. This is going to be a really crucial clash at the top half of the Eastern Conference.

NYCFC (11-4-4) struggled a bit in the first half of their home match against Montreal, but did a great job in the second. They took the lead at the 60th minute with Medina, while Mattarita (65th) and Lewis (76th) completed the triumph. It was a great win for NYCFC, who were playing without key forward David Villa in that match. They have now won back to back matches, and have lost just one of their last six (4-1-1). NYCFC reclaimed the 2nd spot of the Eastern Conference, where they are sitting with 37 points. They improved their home record to 9-0-1, having scored 25 goals against just 4 conceded. They will be missing Berget, Herrera and Hountondji, while Villa is still considered as questionable.
On the other hand, Columbus Crew (8-6-6) are coming off a devastating loss on the road against the LA Galaxy. They were actually pretty active in the first half, but conceded the first goal atthe 42nd minute. The second half was much more balanced, but the Galaxy scored three more goals. Columbus have been in really terrible form lately, as they have lost three of their last four and have won just once in six weeks (1-3-4). They are now sitting at the 4th spot of the Eastern Conference with 30 points, two behind the Red Bulls. Columbus have not been anything special on the road so far (2-4-3), where they have scored just three goals.
There has been total balance in this match-up over the years (3-3-3). Only the most recent match featured goals only from one side and Under 2.5 goals. The other eight matches have had at least Over 2.5 Goals, while seven of them had Over 3.5 Goals.
But Columbus are really struggling to score goals on the road so far in the season, with just three. NYCFC play some really good defense at home, as they have only conceded four goals. They also stopped the Red Bulls from scoring last week, so they might do it again against Columbus. I will go with the home team to cover the spread here.
