Over the first couple of games of the MLS is Back tournament, you could easily have argued that it might well have been a mistake for the league to start back up under the current conditions. Play was sloppy and the setup was hard to get into for fans. That all changed rather quickly, though, once everyone, players and fan alike, started to settle into the tournament. Since those first couple of days, things have been nothing short of brilliant. We have seen, drama, killer comebacks, and a ton of goals, to the point where we are all now looking forward to the games that lie ahead. We have also seen surprises, perhaps the biggest of which was Atlanta United losing their opening two games and essentially out of the tournament. The favorites have not started well, which includes LAFC. They will play their second Group F game on Saturday night and it promises to be a beauty, as they will be squaring off against their biggest rivals. LAFC are favored by 1, with the goal total set at 3.

Why bet on the LA Galaxy
While not among the favorites to win this tournament, the LA Galaxy still have a lot of pressure on their shoulders. After all, there is no team in this league who has won more championships than the Galaxy, but they are still trying to replicate the Beckham/Donovan/Keane era, which they will likely never do. The galaxy signed Chicharito as a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic this offseason, and while he bagged his first goal in Game 1, the Galaxy still fell 2-1 to the Portland Timbers. That puts them in a position where they really need a win here, as they will struggle to land one of the 3rd place slots if they lose their opening 2 games. Interestingly enough, the Galaxy have never lost to LAFC, winning 2 and drawing the other 3 meetings.
Why bet on LAFC
LAFC are coming into this season with a bit of a chip on their shoulder after failing to win the MLS Cup last season. Everyone had them down as the eventual winners, but the playoffs have a way of punishing a team that even has one night off. Still, this is the team that most regard as being the best team in the MLS, especially with league MVP Carlos Vela pulling the strings and scoring goals for fun. Still, LAFC were made to work very hard for their single point in their opening game against the Houston Dynamo, coming from 3-1 down to come away with a 3-3 tie. With the top of the group Portland Timbers to come after this game, LAFC need to pick up something here, which is not a given when you consider their first 2 seasons results against the Galaxy.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
