With sports now back in full swing, we can begin to grade how well the major leagues have done in returning to action and delivering a quality product. You have to say that the MLS should be near the top of the list of successes, as they did an amazing job of putting together a fantastic event with the MLS is Back Tournament in the bubble in Orlando, which was won by the Portland Timbers. The question now is whether that success can be carried over into the return of the regular season proper. On the face of it, they look to be doing things right, keeping the first 6 games of the return in regional markets to prevent too much travel among the teams in the league. It’s a smart move from a health and safety standpoint, but it’s also great in that we get to see a ton of rivalry games over the coming weeks. We have 4 games on tap for Friday night, including a very good looking match between Minnesota United and Sporting Kansas City, both of whom made it to the knockout portion of the MLS Tournament. This one is in as a PK play, with the O/U set at 3.

Why bet on Minnesota United
There was a point in the MLS is Back Tournament where Minnesota United became the team that a lot of people believed to be the favorites to win it all. They made an improbable run to the semi-final and appeared to be getting better as the tournament went on, but they ultimately lost to Orlando City, bringing their tournament to a disappointing end. That said, their great play in the group stage, where points earned counted towards the regular season standings, allowed them to move into second in the West, where they have amassed 11 points, scoring 12 and surrendering 6. In terms of league play, they are still unbeaten this season, including a 2-1 win over SKC in the group stage of the tournament.
Why bet on the Sporting Kansas City
Sporting Kansas City did a nice job of bouncing back after opening their tournament with a 2-1 loss to Minnesota. That proved to be their lone loss in regular season play thus far, as they have now won 4 and lost 1, which is good enough for 12 points and the top spot in the Western Conference. They have scored 13 goals through their opening 5 games and have surrendered just 5. They were, though, soundly beaten 3-1 in their last start, which came against the Philadelphia Union in the knockout phase, which did not count towards regular season stats. One thing that stands out here is that they have yet to win when playing in Minnesota, losing 2 and drawing 2 in their last 4 visits.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I expect this to be another close one between these two teams, but you have to say that there is a definite home field advantage for Minnesota here, which is why I am taking them to win.
