Newcomers Cincinnati have proven to be quite competitive in their maiden season in the MLS. They are coming off a solid draw against Atlanta United and will now get ready for their home debut. They will play host to the Portland Timbers on Sunday and the stadium will be packed. Portland have not been very strong so far in the season and their defense will be put to the test here.

Date/Time: 3-17-2019, 17:00 EST

Spread: Portland Timbers +0.25

Total: 2.75 Goals

Cincinnati (0-1-1) took the lead against Seattle in the opener but met a heavy 1-4 loss. They learned from their mistakes and were much better in their second match. They were not very good on the offensive end but scored a late equalizer at the 86th minute to salvage a point from that 1-1 draw. It was a somewhat lucky point for them as they scored in their only shot on target. Even so, they will now play their first ever MLS home match and the atmosphere will be electrified.

On the other hand, the Portland Timbers (0-1-1) started the season with a frustrating 3-3 draw on the road against Colorado. They were better in that match but conceded a late goal that deprived them of all three points. Portland did not have much luck in their second match either, as they fell by 1-4 on the road against Los Angeles FC. They temporarily pulled even at the 29th minute but conceded three more goals to suffer a bad loss.

Cincinnati will have a full house on Sunday and the crowd is a massive boost for the newcomers. They have not shown much so far in their two matches. But they can certainly have a winning chance against a Portland side that bleeds defensively.

Portland conceded seven goals in their first two matches which goes to show how terrible they are at the back. I will go with the home team to cover the spread here.
