Houston have made the perfect start in the season so far, winning all three matches up to date. They will now look to make it four in a row when they will host the lowly San Jose on Saturday. San Jose have been one of the weakest teams in the MLS again. However, they did win in their last match, but it wasn’t a very hard match to win.

Spread: San Jose Earthquakes +1.25

Total: 3 Goals

Houston (3-0-1) are coming off a really weird but lucky away win against Colorado. The Dynamo did take an early lead at the 4th minute, but their opponents helped. A lot. Colorado scored not one, but two own goals by the end of the first half. Houston were not very good in the second half but did eventually win by 4-1. The Dynamo are now sitting at the 4th spot of the Western Conference with 10 points, two behind the LA Galaxy. But Houston have played four matches while all other teams have played either five or six.

On the other hand, San Jose (1-4-0) are having another lame season so far. They started off with four losses but they did win in their last match. They were hosting Portland, who are also struggling hard, and San Jose looked like a thirsty team. They played good soccer, created a lot of chances and scored all three goals by the 34th minute (0-3). The Western Conference is a mess so far, so San Jose are sitting at the 9th spot with those three points. They have scored just five total goals and have conceded 14 in the process.

Houston beat San Jose by 2-3 in this venue last season after a 2-2 draw in San Jose. Houston have been great in this match-up lately (4-1-2) and have also been really strong as hosts over the years (8-2-1).

Houston are one of those teams that are traditionally strong at home, and are the huge favorites here. San Jose did blow off some steam with a win in their last match but they will have a really bad time in Houston. History also suggests that Houston have been great, so I will just ride that train.
