New York City FC have failed to record a win after two league matches in the new season. They will now look to change that when they will host Los Angeles FC on Sunday. Los Angeles FC have made a tremendous start in the new season. They will come here looking to make it three wins in a row but it won’t be easy.

Date/Time: 3-17-2019, 15:00 EST

Spread: New York City FC -0.25

Total: 2.75 Goals

New York City FC (0-0-2) have not started the season in the best possible manner. After two matches they have got two points, but at least they have avoided defeat so far. In their last match they played for a goal-less draw at home against DC United. They were so much better than their opponents but they had terrible shot selection. New York City FC took a two-goal lead in the opener but failed to beat Orlando City. The post-David Villa era is somewhat of an adaptive period for them.

On the other hand, Los Angeles FC (2-0-0) had a much easier job in their previous match. They hosted Portland Timbers and recorded a really solid 1-4 win. It was a really balanced first half with a goal for each side before the hour mark. But Los Angeles FC took the lead once again at the end of the first half and went on to score two more goals in the second. In the premiere they scored a late goal to beat Sporting Kansas City by 1-2 at home.

The two teams have only met once in the past, in a 2-2 draw in Los Angeles last season. New York City FC will be somewhat frustrated that they haven’t won yet and will be extra determined here.

But Los Angeles FC have been great so far in the season and they can easily score here. They usually score in their away matches and the hosts have not proven themselves yet. I think we will see a lot of goals here.

MLS New York City FC vs Los Angeles FC Prediction: Over 2.75 Goals (-118)
