The Seattle Sounders made a tremendous start in the 2019 season, beating Cincinnati by 1-4. They looked really fresh and healthy, and will look to double their wins when they will host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. Colorado are coming off a mouth-watering 3-3 draw against the Portland Timbers in the premiere. But they traditionally struggle on the road and are in for a tough time here.

Spread: Seattle Sounders -1

Total: 3 Goals

The Seattle Sounders (1-0-0) were really unlucky last season with the injury to Jordan Morris. Clint Dempsey also retired and it was a transitional season for them. But now that they have found their footing and they are healthy. And they showed that in their season opener at home against newcomers Cincinnati. The Sounders slacked at the start of the match and conceded the first goal. But they reacted immediately and pulled even. They were already leading by two goals by the end of the first half, courtesy of Jordan Morris. Seattle sealed their win with another goal at the 87th minute with Ruidiaz for the final 1-4.

On the other hand, Colorado (0-0-1) will be delighted about the outcome of their own match. They hosted the Portland Timbers last week, and took an early lead. But Sjoberg saw a red card at the 27th minute, with Portland missing on the penalty kick but scoring on the rebound. They took the lead by the end of the first half, but Colorado pulled even at the start of the second. Even so, the Rapids went down again at the 66th minute when Wynne scored an own goal. But they didn’t stop fighting and found a late equalizer at the 94th minute by Shinyashiki for the final 3-3. Colorado have traditionally struggled on the road though and this might be too much.

The Seattle Sounders have dominated this match-up lately, winning each of the last six against Colorado. Last season they won here by 0-4 after a 2-1 win in Colorado. The Sounders have been really strong as hosts against Colorado (12-2-1), winning each of the last three.

Colorado did great to hold out for a draw at home while playing with a man down. But the Sounders are always great at home and the atmosphere will be electric. I expect the Sounders to double their wins with a confident performance here.

MLS Seattle Sounders vs Colorado Rapids Prediction: Seattle Sounders -1 (-119)
