While we are all excited to see sports return to action, the reality is that none of us really knew what to expect once they did fully return. Would the teams who looked great prior to the lockdown still be in form a few months later? How would players react to playing without fans in the stands, and how would they react to living life in a bubble, which is what is happening with the MLS and the NBA. In terms of basketball, it is still too early to say, as the games have just started back, but we have now had a good look at soccer, with the MLS is Back Tournament now into the quarterfinal stage. If we are basing things solely on the play on the field, then this tournament has been an unmitigated success. That they have done that and kept positive tests for coronavirus to zero tells us that the bubble approach may just be the best. The Philadelphia Union became the fist team to reach the semi-finals, as we predicted here yesterday, and now it will be Orlando FC and LAFC who hook up next. LAFC is favored by ½, with the goal total for this one set at 3.

Why bet on Orlando City
Orlando City were down in the middle of the pack in terms of the odds to win this tournament, but they rather quickly proved the bookies wrong. They were drawn into Group A alongside the Philadelphia Union, NYCFC, and Inter Miami, and they surprised a lot of people by finishing the group stage on top of the heap, amassing 7 points from their 3 games. They opened things up with back to back wins over Miami and NYCFC, before clinching the top spot with a tie against Philadelphia, which is a very good result when you consider that the Union are now in the final 4. In the Round of 16, they were drawn against Montreal and ground out a 1-0 win to move on.
Why bet on LAFC
The big question for LAFC heading into this tournament was about how they would do without the services of league MVP Carlos Vela, who opted to sit this one out. The answer is that they are doing just fine. Despite hammering in 11 goals in the group stage, LAFC were forced to settle for second place in Group F after tying with the eventual winners, the Portland Timbers, in the final game. While that outcome was sure to be a little disappointing, they did not seem to let it bother them in the Round of 16, hammering the Seattle Sounders 4-1 in a game that was as lopsided as the final score suggests. It looks as though LAFC are getting on a roll, but this is a tough one.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
These two teams have only met twice thus far with LAFC winning one and drawing the other. The common theme in those two games has been goals with a total of 9 scored over the 2 games. I think the OVER is the way to go here.
