In the Main Event of UFC on ESPN+ 4, Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos looks to continue his title shot push against “The Black Beast” Derrick Lewis.

Stay on top of the latest MMA updates direct from Las Vegas!

Derrick Lewis (21-6) is coming off his first UFC Heavyweight title fight against current Champion Daniel Cormier. The Champ made quick work of Lewis, submitting him by rear naked choke in Round 2. Prior to that, Lewis was on a 3 fight winning streak including last second 3rd round KO win over Alexander Volkov. Lewis is a head Hunter always seeking the fight ending shot. This brawler mentality has earner him multiple KO’s over his career. Facing The Black Beast is Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Junior Dos Santos (20-5), a legendary figure in the division for more then a decade. Not only is his knockout reel impressive, but so is the list of names JDS has defeated. After facing a murders row of elite level competition he then lost to, at the time champion Stipe Miocic. JDS rebounded with back to back wins including 2nd round knock out of rising star Tai Tuivasa.

After rewatching their last 3 fights each, I had many takeaways, one being both combatants fighting styles. JDS has one of the best boxing skill sets in the Heavyweight division. Fantastic at working the body creating head shot opportunities, always aware of keeping himself out of danger. Instead of seeking the one huge bomb, Dos Santos fully invests rounds softening up his opponents. Once the wear and tear, round after round sets in The Beast’s offense will diminish pushing his questionable gas tank. Rounds 1 and 2 could be a little scary, a but JDS knows Lewis has one path to victory. Intelligent fighting over 5 rounds will work in his favor, combinations peppering Lewis bring him to deep water. I believe Junior Dos Santos will continue winning on his way up the division rankings.

Take Junior Dos Santos (-190)
