2017-18 NBA Regular Season Win Totals

The 2017-18 National Basketball Association regular season action starts a week earlier with the aim of reducing back-to-back contests this season. The reduced travel and physical stress will provide players with more recovery time. Along with beginning the season a week early the league office has also extended the slate by a full week.

NBA gamers will no longer handicap, support or fade teams that are playing four games in five nights as the trend has been completely eliminated. The move is a first in the 72-year history of the league, having not a single team playing four-in-fives.

The official website of the NBA reported that the change is an “unprecedented adjustment, the number of back-to-backs has been reduced to 14.4 per team from 16.3 per team — an all-time low for the third consecutive season. That’s a reduction in four-in-fives from 70 percent to zero in three seasons and a 26 percent reduction (4.9 per team) in back-to-backs during that same three-year stretch.”
