After showing who’s boss with a dominating win and a big comeback in game one in which they showed character and proved their disbelievers wrong, the top-seeded Boston Celtics, are hosting yet again the fourth-seeded Washington Wizards in the second game of the series.
In Game 1 on Sunday, the Celtics overcame the shocking first half of the opening quarter to get a commanding 123-111 win and lead the series 1-0. Wizards opened the game ferociously with a 16-0 run during which they grabbed the first 12 rebounds of the game and forced the Celtics into missing their first 8 shots from the field. But the hosts caught up in the second quarter and cut the lead into single digits, finishing the half down 59-64. But they were on fire in the third quarter and led by Thomas, who scored 12 of his 33 points and Crowder who scored 11 of his playoff career-high 24 points (6 of 8 from the deep) in that span, they destroyed the Wizards with a 36-16 third quarter score and got a 15-point lead which they never lost until the final buzzer. Thomas added 9 assists, while Horford was phenomenal with 21 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds, while shooting 10-13 from the field. The Celtics made 19 triples in the game with an amazing 48.7%. For the Wizards, Beal had 27 points, while Wall added 20 and 16 assists.
