NBA Preview and Free Pick
Chicago closes the week of Association action with a Sunday night contest in the California capital of Sacramento. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET at Golden 1 Center. NBA Preview and Free Pick: Kings -6.5 vs Bulls.
Chicago is young. The squad is creative offensively but inept on the defensive side of the court. Despite shooting over 50 percent from the field and connecting on over 50 percent of their shots from distance the Jim Boylen led Bulls came up short against the Clippers on Friday night.
The Bulls headliner, Zach LaVine, is trying to play through a knee injury. And while he is averaging 30 points over his last seven games as a whole Chicago’s inexperienced rotations don’t defend with any passion.
If the Sacramento Kings face four games against non-postseason qualifiers and do so on their home hardwood. The Kings host the Bulls tonight, a fatigued and injury riddled Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. Followed by the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns. Finding a way into the top-eight spots of the West is a long shot as they currently sit six games behind the Clippers for the eighth slot with just 14 games to play. But the current four-game slate of games on Golden 1 court, will define how this team plays their final eight games of the season, again, with nearly half of their final eight events coming against lottery bound squads.
Kings coach Dave Joerger went toe-to-toe with the Sixers on Friday night eventually falling by a 123-114 final. Chicago dropped the opener of a three-game road trip to the Los Angeles Clippers despite putting up numbers that would find an average defensive team on the winning end. Alas, the Bulls couldn’t stop the small lineup of the Clippers and were run out of Staples in a 45-21 third quarter victory by Doc Rivers squad.
The Bulls are 2-11 on the road when playing Western Conference foes. Make that 2-12 with a double-digit loss in Sacramento tonight.
