Odds to Win 2019 NBA MVP
The National Basketball Player Most Valuable Player award debate is alive and well. The arguments of whom should, will and most deserves to win will resonate throughout the summer regardless of the player who takes home the MVP hardware. Odds to Win 2019 NBA MVP: Giannis vs James
Will the real King James please stand up
There isn’t a single argument that has been spoken or written to me that doesn’t have integrity. The most intriguing mooting presented to me spun off into a debate of whether the given name of “King” and surname of “James” should now be inherited by Harden rather than LeBron.
All things being equal the NBA MVP race has typically reached the Game, Set and Match decision by March. However here we are smack-dab in the middle of the college basketball madness and the heat of the Association postseason chase, and for all intent and purpose the Greek Freak and now-King James MVP engagement is seemingly at a standoff.

In regards to the argument of most valuable when discussing Antetokounmpo vs Harden one can construct a story that best fits their belief. And in the case of the two players in question; be it an MVP equation that is constructed by numbers, environment or supporting cast the sum of the formula is rarely a dead heat. This when one is arguing with an emotional bias. The stories we tell inform others of our choices and in many cases confirm said biases.
The Greek has taken a Milwaukee team that was projected to win 48.5 games at the close of the World’s Largest Race and Sportsbook‘s NBA Season Team Win Total to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The Freak has single handedly carried the Bucks to 50 wins at the time this article went to press. And the franchise still has 15 regular season games left to play.
Harden is having as good and maybe better season than his MVP campaign of a year ago. The Rockets closed at the Westgate Book with a 2018-19 NBA Season Win Total of 56.5 games. Harden and company currently sit at 42 victories on the season with 15 regular season games remaining. Houston is currently riding a nine-game winning streak and would have to win their remaining 15 games to exceed the SuperBook‘s closing future number to exceed expectations. This would mean closing the 2018-19 season with 24 straight wins. This kind of team success would offer Harden a mortal-lock on the personal achievement with an MVP trophy.
