Boston missed a chance at stealing the home court edge from Brooklyn when it couldn’t hold on to a double-digit lead in Game One of the series, but the Celts were still covering inside of a minute to play at the Barclays Center on Saturday. Sure, Net stars Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden bounced back from a slow start and turned the Boston defense inside out in the second half, but don’t believe Brad Stevens’ Celtic side will back down one bit in Game Two. Boston is 35-29 SU in the playoffs over the past 4+ seasons, and 10-5 SU on the road in postseason since April of 2019. Realize Brooklyn has been a bad matchup for the Celtics for a few years, as the Nets have won 6 of the last 7 confrontations and is 9-2 against the number last 11 facing Boston, but things change and this is a roomy number. The Nets also have the momentum, as Brooklyn has won and covered 6 straight.

Still, look for a desperate effort from a Celtic team that knows going down 0-2 against the Nets would be a playoff death sentence. Note that “under” has been successful lately with these two. The “under” took the money in 7 of the Nets’ last 10 games, the last 5 straight Celtic contests as well as in the last 4 straight games in this series. Don’t trust Boston’s road mark (15-21 SU; 16-20 vs. the points) as much as would count on a renewed defensive intensity from the visitor, and Celtic pivot Robert Williams is expected to return to action.
Play the Under.
