Spread: Boston Celtics -7 (-110) (updated NBA Odds)
The Heat have won their last two games and three of four overall. On Saturday, the team traveled to New York to take on the Knicks and walked off the floor with an 8-point win as 7-point favorites. For the year, Miami is 38-38 (41-34-1 ATS).
The Celtics were also last in action Saturday, dropping a 110-96 decision to the Brooklyn Nets as 4-point underdogs. That defeat snapped a two-game winning streak for Boston. On the season, the team is 45-32 (35-40-2 ATS).
Miami is in 8th place in the east standings. They’re a half-game behind the 7th place Nets, and a half-game in front of the 9th place Orlando Magic. The team has been playing well down the stretch with a mark of 7-3 (6-3-1 ATS). The Heat have been decent on the road this season with a mark of 20-17 (25-12 ATS).
Game totals have been Under for the last three in a row and stand at 38-38 for the year. The team is dealing with a number of injuries. Both Josh Richardson and Justise Winslow are out for tonight’s game. Dwyane Wade is averaging 14.4 ppg, while Hassan Whiteside tops the team with 11.4 rpg.
Boston has locked up a playoff berth and currently sits in 4th place in the east. They’re in a virtual tie with the 5th place Indiana Pacers, and 4.5 games back of the 3rd place Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics are 4-6 (2-8 ATS) over their last 10 games. The club has been strong on the home floor this season with a record of 27-12 (20-19 ATS).
Totals have been Over for four of the last six and check in at 43-34 for the season. Kyrie Irving leads the way on offense for Boston with averages of 23.9 ppg and 7.1 apg. He’s probable tonight with a back injury. Al Horford also has a probable tag after missing the last game with a knee injury.
Heat vs. Celtics Prediction
This will be the third meeting of the season for these two squads. They have split the first two with the home team winning both times. The last meeting came back on January 21. The Celtics picked up a 107-99 home win as 8.5-point favorites.
For the last 10 meetings with Miami, Boston holds a 7-3 edge. Totals are 5-5 over that span. The Heat have been playing the better basketball of late, but the home court advantage for the Celtics is strong. We’ll look for the hosts to get the win as the visitors keep it closer than expected.
